Section 301 Refunds

China Section 301 tariffs are one of the biggest sources of recoverable duty. Many importers overpaid without realizing it.

What Section 301 tariffs are

Section 301 tariffs are additional duties, commonly 25%, applied to many China-origin goods on top of the normal base rate. Because they hit thousands of HTS lines and stack on the base duty, they add up quickly, and they are a frequent source of overpayment.

The exclusion process

The USTR granted product exclusions that removed specific goods from the Section 301 tariff for defined windows. Importers who were entitled to an exclusion but did not claim it paid duty they did not owe. Recovering means identifying the exclusions that applied to your products and filing to reclaim what you overpaid.

One review, both angles

Section 301 recovery often runs alongside IEEPA refunds and HTS misclassification review. Rather than treating them separately, a single specialist review looks at all of it, so nothing recoverable is left on the table.

Section 301 tariffs are additional duties, commonly 25%, applied to many China-origin goods on top of the normal base rate. Because they hit thousands of HTS lines, they are a frequent source of overpayment.

How are Section 301 duties recovered?

Recovery means identifying product exclusions you were entitled to but did not claim, and correcting HTS misclassifications that carried a higher rate than required.

Can this run alongside my IEEPA claim?

Yes. Section 301 recovery is reviewed together with IEEPA refunds and HTS misclassification, so nothing recoverable is left on the table.

What does it cost?

Nothing upfront. Fees are success-based and come only from what is actually recovered.
